For the first two of weeks of term, coaches Sebastian and Airton were in Tahiti running a training camp for the Tahitian Tennis Federation in preparation for the 2027 Pacific Games.
Sebastian and Airton spent time on court with the country's top players, as well as the best 12, 14, and 16 year olds, working on the same key themes we focus on daily at the academy using the Lavie coaching method.
Sebastian says, "Trips like this not only give us great coaching experience but also help us better understand the backgrounds of players across the Pacific, especially those who regularly come to train with us in New Zealand through the ITF development program.
It was also really inspiring to see how hard working and grateful the kids were for the opportunity.
We’re hoping this will become a yearly camp, and we'll aim to take a group of Lavie kids to Tahiti in the future to compete in local tournaments, giving them the chance to experience a new culture, a new language, and everything beautiful that Tahiti has to offer."
Until next time, Tahiti!
