Tabitha Porter reflects on our recent Female Performance Camp

Over three inspiring days, Lavie Tennis Academy proudly hosted our Female Performance Camp, led by myself, Tabitha Porter, and Tai Correa. With the support of Sebastian Lavie, Director, and Josh Crozier, Academy Coach, the Camp provided female athletes with a unique opportunity to grow both on and off the court.

We were privileged to welcome special guest appearances from some of New Zealand’s leading figures in women’s tennis - Tracey O’Connor, Sasha Situe, and Sarah Wardenburg, who shared their insights, experiences and inspiration with the players.

The program also included a breathing workshop with Abby Stewart, a highly talented physiotherapist, giving the girls practical tools to support recovery, focus and performance.

We finished the Camp with an open Q+A for parents and players, diving into important topics such as female physiology, nutrition and the tennis developmental pathway.

The timing couldn’t have been better as I head off to Kazakhstan this week with Tatiana Na, Elsa Pryor, and Sara Shimotomai, all of whom attended the Camp, to compete in the 12U Asian Tennis Federation Intercontinental Competition.

This was a truly special three days, filled with learning, connection, and inspiration for the next generation of female athletes in New Zealand.
