A big congratulations to Armani, who has been selected for Team New Zealand for the first time after coming through our Red Ball programme. A proud moment for her, her whānau, and our team!
Armani Houkamau came through our Red, Orange, and Green Ball programmes and is now part of our 12U Performance Programme. We are super proud that she has officially been selected for the 11U New Zealand team travelling to Australia this June. The team will be led by Tabitha Porter, who has also been selected as Team Captain.
Over the past few years, we have seen Armani and her whānau fully committed to the process, consistently putting in the work day in and day out. Their dedication to tennis goes far beyond the training court, with regular travel around New Zealand and a willingness to prioritise Armani’s tennis over family holidays and other social events.
Tennis can be a tough journey and we are so pleased to see Armani earn her first national selection. It is a reflection of her work ethic, a strong team behind her, and the unwavering support from her family.
A special shout out to Coach Josh Crozier, who has been with Armani since her very first Red Ball session and continues to work with her through private lessons and group training throughout the week.
Well done, Armani! See you on the Gold Coast!
